Meet Matthew
Born and raised in Zionsville, Indiana. Matthew Orbaugh first picked up a camera in eighth grade, during the isolation of the COVID lockdowns - photographing friends outside became a way to create connection when little else was possible. What began as a creative outlet quickly grew into an obsession with editorial imagery and the art of transformation through a lens.
Growing up immersed in social media gave Matthew an early, instinctive understanding of visual storytelling and the broader industry beyond his hometown. Before he'd even graduated high school, he had built Matthew Orbaugh Photography into a six-figure business, earning national recognition as a Top 100 Senior Portrait Studio. For years, MOP redefined what a senior portrait experience could be - full-service styling, professional hair and makeup, and editorial direction for a generation raised on high fashion imagery.
Now, Matthew is closing that chapter and making the move to New York City, where he's pursuing fashion and editorial photography full time. Matthew is drawn to imagery that feels bold, transformative, and unmistakably intentional. He's most passionate about portraits that make people see themselves differently. He's inspired by confidence, individuality, and the moment someone stops posing and starts becoming.
He is currently based in NYC, and enjoys traveling for assignments as much as possible.
